Today, Academy District 20 sent an email to parents celebrating the fact that “CMAS Results Show Growth and Achievement”.
The body of the email makes an interesting claim that, “After an early review of the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) results, Academy District 20 (ASD20) learned we outperformed Colorado state growth and achievement averages in every content area and grade level.” …and… “The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) released both state and district results to the public this afternoon, Aug. 17, 2023, and…we met and/or exceed growth [sic] in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math for all grade levels.”
Since we’ve already experienced a number of times where District 20 staff made outlandish claims that ended up being a vastly gross embellishment, we decided to review the data directly from CDE’s dedicated webpage (found here).
Let’s just say their grandstanding claims are…again…a bit inflated.
